At a book signing event, Stephanie is shocked to be confronted by Emily herself, who has been released from prison on appeal. Emily, now engaged to a wealthy Italian man with ties to the mafia named Dante Versano (Michele Morrone), coerces Stephanie into being her maid of honor at their lavish wedding in Capri. Emily dangles the promise of increased book sales and threatens a lawsuit for using her likeness without permission, leaving Stephanie little choice but to agree to the bizarre reunion.

As Stephanie travels to the stunning Italian island for the wedding, she can’t shake the feeling that Emily’s motives are far from innocent. Surrounded by Emily’s eccentric family, Dante’s suspicious mother Portia (Elena Sofia Ricci), and a bitter ex-husband Sean (Henry Golding), Stephanie once again finds herself entangled in a web of secrets, betrayals, and unexpected twists, realizing that her simple favor might lead to another dangerous and deadly game.
